HEALTHCARE LABELING
A major Healthcare customer needed help revising their IV Labeling System. The current system did not have a means of updating the patient charge system. As a result, the hospital was losing significant revenue from lost charges. In addition, when it came time to dispose of the bags, because the label on the bag identified the patient name and information related to their medications, they were in conflict with HIPPA (Healthcare Information Privacy and Portability Act) regulations which requires confidentiality of patient information. An added problem was the fact that the label on the bag made it difficult for the hospitals to recycle the bags.
Holden Graphic Services worked closely with the Nursing and Pharmacy team staff to design a label which allowed for labeling of the required information, updating the patient charges, and removal of the label for proper disposal of the bag.
